Christmas comedy at The Tommyfield in December

Sara Pascoe
Hyde Panaser
Gemma Beagley

“Dear Santa, all I want for Christmas is to gather with my mates at The Tommyfield in the presence of sheer comedy geniuses while they make me cry with laughter at their berry funny jokes”.

Forget Christmas shopping and decking the halls with boughs of holly, why not have a real festive treat and a sleigh full of laughter this December, head over to the Renaissance pub’s event ‘Christmas comedy at The Tommyfield’ where the ABC Comedy and MC extraordinaire James Gill will be hosting the evenings of the 1st and 15th of December.

Thursday 1st December’s evening will be a special Christmas comedy event with all proceeds raised going to Great Ormond Street Hospital.

You may recognize headliner Sara Pascoe from TV hits such as Free Agents, The Thick Of It and Being Human, however, her real forte is comedy. Named as a Rising Stars of Comedy’, Sara’s humorous and clever material keeps the audience enthralled, especially with her original comedy songs at the end of her routine.

Hyde Panaser has an observational storytelling style which takes the audience on a journey of numerous subjects dealing with different cultures, every day situations, funny dialogues and excellent heckling rebuttles.

A finalist at the London New Comedy Awards, Gemma Beagley is a hit with the audience with her fast-talking South London banter revolving around her insecure loneliness.

On Thursday 15th December acts include headliner Gemma Whelan, who will be playing the lead role of Chastity Butterworth. As a finalist at the ‘Funny Women Awards 2010’, Gemma’s quirky, frank, mischievous humour comes alive through witty stories and occasionally foul-mouthed characters.

Harriet Kemsley began stand up this year but she has already been named as ‘Up The Creek's one to watch’ and was a ‘Reading Comedy Festival new act finalist’. Her fresh style of writing and one-liners about London’s clash of middle and working-class cultures is a hit with the audience.

Youngish, geeky and with acoustic guitars, Horse and Louis, the awesome musical double acts were semi finalists in the ‘Amuse Moose Competition 2011’. Yule be sorry if you miss this, it’s not too deer either. For a full list of acts, check out: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=259646210732359
